• How do I put my poll on my site?
After you finish creating your poll, we will provide you with a standard HTML code, the language that all websites are made up of. All that you need to do is copy and paste this code anywhere in your website's source code. If you use online tools and/or software to design your website and are not familiar with HTML code, please contact your website provider and ask them for assistance.

If you don't have a website, we also provide tools to easily post your poll on Facebook, Twitter, Blogger, and many more sites.

  • Why are you offering this service for free? It seems too good to be true!
Our service is provided free of charge in exchange for advertisements that we will place on your poll's result pages (seen only when someone votes, or view your poll's results). We won't put any advertising your website itself, only a link back to our site.

  • What do you do to try and stop people from cheating in my poll?
When you create your poll, you can choose whether you would like to allow one vote per day, week, month or year. We use multiple methods, including cookies and IP address data to try to allow one vote per user. Although there is no perfect method available on the Internet for unregistered users, we believe ours is among the best.

  • Is there any limit to the number of people who can vote in my poll?
No, your poll can receive an unlimited number of votes.

  • I just tried voting in a poll, but it said I already voted! Why?
To try to keep polls more accurate, one measure we use is to allow one vote per IP address. If your network is set up so that all users share a single IP, and someone else on your network has already voted, only one vote will be accepted.

  • Why would I want to create a Pollcode account?
Pollcode accounts are loaded with features! Any polls created in your account can have a link back to your site, you can reset its votes at any time, you can allow comments to your polls, you can delete your poll, you can even retrieve your poll's HTML code at a later time.

  • Can I create polls that don't contain any advertising?
Yes! Please first sign up for a free Pollcode account, and then create a poll while you are logged in. In the Pollcode Administation Area, you can purchase an ad-free term of service that will apply to all polls in your account. If you buy an entire year of ad-free service, it will only cost you about $3.33 a month!

  • How do I delete a poll that I have created?
All that you have to do is remove the poll code from your site. There is nothing you need to do on our site, your poll will be removed for inactivity.

If you have a Pollcode account, you can delete it by clicking "Access Account Admin" area in the top right corner of our main page.

  • I have a Pollcode account, but not all of my polls are showing up in the Account Admin Area. How do I get them to show up?
You must be sure that you are logged in when you create your poll. If not, it will be created as a guest. It is not possible to add a poll that was created as a guest to your account. You can always determine your current status by looking in the top right corner when you are creating a poll.

If you want to be sure you are always logged in, check the "Remember me on this computer until I log out" box the next time you log in.

  • How can I change some of my poll's answers, or change my poll question?
You will need to create a new poll, and copy the new code to your site. It isn't possible to change the settings of an existing poll, because this might be unfair to those who have already voted.

  • I just tried voting in my poll and it says it can't be found, where did it go?
We regularly remove polls from our system that have not received a vote in over 30 days, in order to free up system resources for active customers. This is in accordance with our Terms of Service.

  • Is there any limit to the number of polls I can create?
No, we hope you create lots of them!
